Introduction

Laser Rot sponsorship banners are a great way to promote your website or products to the LaserDisc and DVD community. Laser Rot currently receives approximately 3,000 visitors per month, making it easily one of the busiest LaserDisc- and DVD- related websites on the Internet, and this number is increasing by several hundred visitors every day.

By sponsoring or advertising on Laser Rot, you can:

• Reach experienced LaserDisc, DVD and home theatre enthusiasts, as well as the up-and-coming flood of new users.

As a central resource to LaserDisc and DVD information, Laser Rot provides sponsors and advertisers with the ability to reach a 100% target audience. The audience includes the heavy, core enthusiasts who come to explore the latest developments available from Laser Rot and its supported community. In addition, Laser Rot introduces many "newbies" to the world of LaserDisc and DVD entertainment each and every day.

Although some consider the Internet to be uncharged territory, with unknown values and uncertain benefits, Laser Rot provides LaserDisc, DVD and home theatre advertisers with the solutions they need for full market coverage and provides a means of reaching consumers who are connected on the Internet now. All banner sponsorships and advertising programs include a banner linked directly to the advertiser's website. All programs are offered on a monthly basis, and positions are determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Laser Rot also offers the opportunity to secure one to three additional online pages in additional to a banner, allowing you a greater freedom in advertising.

Banner Sponsorships

• Standard banners can be sized up to a maximum of 500 pixels wide by 75 pixels high. (Larger banner sizes are available - please contact us at laserrot@laserrot.com for rates.)
  
  
• Total file size for each banner must be no more than 20,000 bytes (20Kb) maximum, static or animated.
  
  
• The screen resolution must be 72dpt at actual size.
  
  
• Banners may be submitted in either GIF or JPEG formats.
  
  
• Animated banners may only be submitted in GIF format. All animated GIF banners must be accompanied by a non-animated GIF file to be considered.
  
  
• Interlaced banners will only be accepted in GIF format.
  
  
• MAP Files are not accepted.
  
  
• Alternate text for images (the ALT= tag) may be included at up to 10 words maximum.

Full-Page Advertisements

• Include one (1) banner as specified in the Banner Sponsorships section above.
  
  
• A maximum of 40 words of descriptive text may be included with your banner.
  
  
• Your banner will be linked to a full-page advertisement for your company located on our website (up to a maximum of three pages).
  
  
• The descriptive text regarding your products and/or company information may not exceed 600 words per page. Number sequences (i.e. phone numbers), e-mail and web links count as one word each.
  
  
• Up to three (3) additional images per page may be included. The combined size of all images must not exceed 60,000 bytes (60Kb) in size. Images must be in GIF or JPEG formats. Interlaced images will only be accepted in GIF format. Additional images may be included at a rate of $10.00 per image per page. Each additional image must not exceed 20,000 bytes (20Kb) in size.
  
  
• Downloadable computer files (such as catalogs) can be placed onto our ftp server for consumer access, with links placed directly onto your full page advertisement. The combined size of all downloadable files may not exceed 100,000 bytes (100Kb) maximum. Files may be included at a rate of $10.00 per each additional 20,000 bytes of data exceeding the 100Kb limit (i.e., 100Kb-120Kb=$10.00 extra, 120K-140Kb=$20.00 extra, 140Kb-160Kb=$30.00, and so forth).

Submission of Materials

• One URL link to your website (and one link only) must be provided for each banner placed on our website. Alternatively, an e-mail address can instead be linked to your banner if you do not have a website.
  
  
• All banners must be sent via e-mail as an attachment to laserrot@laserrot.com. Please do not use any compression for the files.
  
  
• For full-page advertisements, we recommend sending your text file or a composed HTML page via e-mail to ensure complete accuracy of your information. This also applies for any additional images or downloadable files. As with the banners, please send these files via e-mail as an attachment to laserrot@laserrot.com. Please do not use any compression for the files.
  
  
• In the same e-mail to which you have attached your banner, advertisement or additional image(s), make sure to send the entire URL for your site following the syntax http://server.domain.com/file.type (for example: http://www.laserrot.com/index.html).
  
  
• Late submissions will be held until the following start date (Friday). You will be notified by phone or email should this occur.

Sponsorship & Advertisement Terms

• Sponsorship banners and business advertisements begin each Friday.
  
  
• All banners and advertisements run for one (1) full month. Banners and advertisements purchased at the six month discounted rate must be run in continuous months.
  
  
• Materials and full payment are due five (5) days before your desired Friday start date.
  
  
• All banners and advertisements finish running on Thursdays. Holidays do not affect ending dates

Terms of Payment

We will only accept U.S. funds. Rates are subject to change without any prior notice. Sponsors and advertisers signed up for flat-rate month-to-month programs will have those rates protected for as long as their ad runs continuously, to a maximum of six months from the date of the rate change. All sponsorships and advertisements must be prepaid. All ads are subject to prior approval by Laser Rot. Payment is due five (5) days before sponsor's desired start date. Payment must accompany a completely filled-out and signed copy of this Sponsorship contract, available upon request.

Disclaimer

1. All online sponsorships or advertisers and their associated agencies agree to indemnify and hold Laser Rot harmless against any expense or loss by reason of any claims arising out of online publication and display.
   
   
2. Positioning of sponsorship banners and advertisements is at the sole discretion of Laser Rot except where a request for a specific preferred position is acknowledged by Laser Rot in writing. Materials and full payment must be received five (5) days before your desired Friday start date, or any preferred positions may be lost.
   
   
3. Cancellations or changes in orders must be made in writing and be received by Laser Rot on or before the Thursday prior to your desired start date. No refunds or credits will be given once the banner or advertisement has been placed online, for any reason. Banners or advertisements purchased at the six month discount rate must run in consequtive months, and no refunds or credits will be given for cancellation after online publication at any time for any reason.
   
   
4. All rates are subject to change without prior notice from Laser Rot.
   
   
5. All contents of sponsorship banners and advertisements are subject to Laser Rot's approval. Laser Rot reserves the right to refuse any advertisers or sponsors;hip banners for any reason. Laser Rot reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement, insertion order, space reservation or position commitment at any time. This document is not an offer of advertising space, it is a rate sheet only.
   
   
6. In no event shall Laser Rot be liable for any damages, consequential or otherwise, as a result of any mistakes, misprints or typographical errors in any advertisement, or for any other reason.
   
   
7. No conditions other than those set forth in this rate card shall be binding on Laser Rot unless specifically agreed to in writing by Laser Rot. Laser Rot will not be bound by conditions printed or appearing on order blanks, copy instructions or anywhere else which conflict with the provisions of this rate card.
   
   
8. Laser Rot is not liable for delays in delivery and/or non-delivery in the event of an Act-of-God, action by any govern,ment or quasi-governmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strikes whether legal or illegal, labor or material shortage, transportation interruption or any kind, work slow-down or any condition beyond the control of the electronic publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.
   
   
9. All ads, banners, and other materials must be received and prepaid in full prior to the advertiser's requested starting date for their ad campaign.
   
   
10. We cannot be held responsible in any manner for the claims or actions of any of the sponsors or advertisers featured online, or for losses incurred through such advertising. All advertisers and sponsors assume total and complete liability for their copy in their advertisements. You buy, sell and trade at your own risk. Appearance of sponsorship or advertisements on the Laser Rot website does not imply any endorsement whatsoever by Laser Rot of said sponsors or advertisers.
