Review

As with most adult films released, Angel Puss forgoes anything resembling a plot to focus itself more fully on the film's "intimate" sequences. However, Angel Puss was written and directed by Alex de Renzy, which means that the film is full of witty dialogue, some nice camerawork, and decent performances. What plot there is revolves around hospital patient Joey Silvera, suffering from poison oak and unable to satisfy his urges because of his heavily-bandaged hands. Candy striper Renee Morgan and Head Nurse Shanna McCullough attempt to help Joey, but both soon have other things to do and leave him at the most inopportune time. After a number of humorous fantasy sequences in which Joey still can't get any satisfaction, he is visited by a heaven-sent angel (Brandi Wine) who fulfills his every wish.

Released on disc by LaserDisc Entertainment, Angel Puss was a shot-on-video feature. The original videotaped source footage has several dropouts, the image is clear although minutely fuzzy (as videotaped imagery can be), and the colors are strong and feature some video noise. Besides the video noise problem, the picture does look fairly good. While CAV side two is usually steady, some scenes featuring movement do jitter a bit (again apparently due to the videotaped source footage). The CX-encoded analog mono audio is fine, but beware of the ever-present background hiss. Angel Puss was pressed at Pioneer and contains nine listed chapter markers.
